An extrication instructor and no small name in Extrication Circles, Eric J. Rickenbach wrote an article called A New Twist to SRS: The Door Mounted Curtain Airbag for Moditech. Rickenbach provides some very good information and Moditech’s Crash Rocovery System (CRS) provided some very useful images.

You are dispatched to an MVA with a Honda Civic and another vehicle. You ATF that the appearance of the 2012 Civic Hybrid is essentially the same as conventional Civic sedans. The only difference is the word “Hybrid” appears on the right rear of the vehicle on the Hybrid model.
The Cut Zones are highlighted in blue below. Make sure you take note of the Side Curtain Airbag Inflators in the C-Pillar.

I found the image below on evsafetytraining.org and thought the comments that are listed on the Emergency Response Guide (ERG) were a little funny coming straight from a car maker. Most of the time Ron Moore and David Dalrymple are the ones making the the statements about old cutters being out gunned with new steels! Check out number 1.
