When Boron Extrication was in its’ infancy I met Zach Green founder of MN8 Firefox and he was FDIC selling the now common place illuminating helmet band. He gave me one and a set of his MN8 Foxfire Illuminating Helmet Tetrahedrons. I put the tetrahedrons on my training helmet and gave the helmet band to a firefighter at my station. I try to pass out and spread new items out to guys at my station to get different opinions on stuff.
The MN8 Foxfire Illuminating Helmet Band really works well, period! With a paid on call firefighter that I work for it is difficult to make a good structure fire let alone see the guy I gave the helmet band to. However, I was able to work with him during many training fires in my department’s burn building. Let me tell you it was easy to find him in a smoked filled room.
The MN8 Foxfire Illuminating Helmet Tetrahedrons and helmet band also work well on the roadway at night. We all have to wear these awesome orange safety vest. While they do help with visibility, MN8 Foxfire Illuminating gear works well to make first responders to stand out in the darkness.
So the bottom line, MN8 Foxfire is was a small company standard by a firefighter that has now grown to put its Illuminating technology in stairwells and in arenas to help with egress.
