Monday and Tuesday I will be teaching HOT classes with David Dalrymple from Roadway Rescue and Fire Engineering. The class will highlight new vehicle technology and advanced extrication techniques. Many fire service companies are supporting this including TECGEN, TNT Rescue, Holmatro, Hurst, HexArmor, Schmitz Mittz, Haix, 911Tools, Hi-Lift Jacks, and many more. All 4 classes are full with a waiting list so it will be two days of packed vehicle extrication training. Click here for the official FDIC information on the training.
Wednesday is the opening ceremony for FDIC and this will be the first time I’m down there for it. I’ll be at the FOOLS Bash and feel free to find me and make sure I have a challenge coin on me.
Thursday will be booth visits at the conference. I’m still setting up my expo schedule because there are a few classes I would like to take. One booth you will find me at a lot is the TECGEN booth. TECGEN makes great extrication and rescue gear and are a long time supporter of my training efforts and fitness in the fire service. The crew from the HOT classes and I will be holding a live Blogcast on Thursday at 13:00. It will be the Xtrication Talk show radio blog. Stop by if you can.
Friday is shaping up to be a great day. The FDIC 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is an emotional event. Read about my life changing meeting last year here. I’m climbing in memory of Joseph Agnello from Ladder 118 again this year. His cousin, a retired FDNY firefighter may join me and climb.
The 2014 Firefighter Turnout is going to close out FDIC with a bang! I will be there and will have a limited number of Boron Extrication challenge coins and patches made by LogoTags to hand out. Many of the fire service bloggers will be there. Passes will be available by visiting the sponsor’s booths on the show floor.
